The Sound of the Hoover
VOLUME TWO

Mixed by John Truelove (Lectrolux) & Jon Dennis

WHAT THE PRESS SAID.....

"Hoover 2 is a no nonsense collection of hard house, acid, techno and trance bleeders, mostly from the Truelove collective,  showing exactly why they lead the way in what we call "F* ckin Choooonz"

Muzik  (Chris Todd)  5/5

"Another great compilation, this time from London trance-meisters the Truelove Label Collective. Sound Of The Hoover 2 continues the showcase for hard house amd energy trance which has been pioneered by the collective in general and the TEC label in particular."

Big Issue Cymru (Donovan Keogh)  5/5

A FEW WORDS from John Truelove

The challenge to blend some absolutely classic trance tracks with a bunch of brilliant new ones was a huge one to take on. This became all the more obvious as we attempted to put the theory into practice, but I am totally blown away by some of the results (needless to say the failures don’t appear on this album!).

Highlights for me have to be the way that Vamp drops after Raise Your Power (and still sounds so fresh 7 years later!) and the absolutely serene way that the growing darkness of Tierra Del Fuego gives over to the blissfull mood of For An Angel.

Besides Paul Van Dyk’s reworking of his own track there are two great new remixes of classic old tracks: Ian M’s remix of Dye Witness’ What Would You Like To Hear and Vincent De Moor’s faithful and inspired update of Dominator. The dubs of both Debauchery and Bamboozled are exclusive to this album, and we are proud to feature tracks by scene stalwarts such as Jon The Dentist, Emma Doubell, F1, Ben "trigger" Tisdall, and Andy Allder.

We went for a more relentless approach on CD2 to be more representative of one of Jon Dennis’ legendary Sunday night/Monday morning main floor Melt sets. From Kektex’ The Next Phase the tone is set. Four of the first eight tracks bear the production mark of D.A.V.E. The Drummer in some capacity, with his relentless pounding groove and infectious percussion. The majority of the content of this album was conceived and organised by Ronnie Red & myself well in advance. However at the very last minute we realised Humate’s Sound was going to work perfectly, and we were delighted when Superstition allowed us to include it at very short notice (thanks Tobias). Neurodancer’s segue from Mind The Gap is, we feel, a "moment" (as they say!) but each listener will hopefully have their own.

Anyway, we hope you enjoy the music, cos that’s what it’s all about….
