It's
Fabulous was started in the middle of 1996 as our in-house
hard house label, with the release of Loverman's
"You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" featuring
the talented Colette on vocals (yes, full vocals!).
Although
the label was originally called "Its Fantastic
Plastic", due to the fact that we shared that name
with an obscure indie label we finally felt 'It's Fabulous'
to be more appropriate and, we changed our name in 97.
Nuff said!
After the release of a further four tracks: Rachel
Auburn's "Machine Man"; Jon
Dennis and Wayne
G's "I Get Up"; Groove Terminator's
"It's On"; and the infamous "Twisted"
by Wayne G and Stewart
Who? as Twisted, the A&R responsibilities were
briefly taken on by Rachel Auburn before she went on
to create her own fabulous RA label.
Rachel's
first signing was "Get To The Back"
by Fantasia. It's typical of the funky
sexy style and feel of the label, and shows the
way she sees it progressing.
It's
Fabulous' main objectives are to sign house tracks
with an across the board appeal, mainly in an
upbeat pumping, fun sexy style with crossover
potential. i.e. big floorfillers that would be popular
with DJs such as Tony de Vit, Danny Rampling, Tall Paul
, Graham Gold, Seb Fontaine, yet played in clubs
as diverse as the Fridge in Brixton, The Ministry Of
Sound (!?!) and Trade in London, Joy in Edinburgh,
Love Child in Aberdeen, Squires in Derry and the Hippo
Club in Cardiff.
No
bones about it, It's Fabulous is about those
who like it upfront and tuneful, but including anything
from chunky house, disco to nu-energy. Groundbreaking
yet commercial stuff! |
