fluff

fluff is a dynamic new label launched at the beginning of 1998 as part of the Truelove Label Collective.

It’s aim is to provide an uplifting hardbag vibe & is not afraid of releasing quality shagtastic cheezi choons in the process - basically ‘Handbag with a Brick in it!’, so look out for slamming sounds made for all dancefloors.

The label will be A & R'd by DJ Wayne G, irrepsonsible for the massive underground gay anthem "Twisted". Wayne is a complete lush and has an unstoppable passion for rich foods, rich men, vodka and mature blue cheese and will apply this quality taste (?!!!!) to all releases on FLUFF.

The first release, D-Bop’s "Feel Like Dancing’’ (including remixes from Tony De Vit and Diddy) received Muzik’s Hardbag Vital Vinyl and Wax’s Single Of The Month amongst other accolades. Not bad for a first tune.

Fluff logo.TIF (83088 bytes) Since then, top DJ’s including Pete Wardman, Graham Gold, Ian M and John ‘00’ Fleming have supported the label and remixers such as Dax, Sister Suck and Wayne G himself, have all got in on the action. Love Muscle’s Marc Andrews has had a solo release, ‘Pleasure ’98’ (after providing a remix on Grip’sPeople Come Together’) which was a Top 20 hit in the Record Mirror, DJ Magazine and Mixmag Update Club Charts.

Finally, we asked Wayne for his comment on FLUFF: "There's not enough decent hardbag goin' around. The clubs I play in demand a better quality of music. You know, more uplifting, but with attitude. Some of the music I buy just doesn't have any guts to it, so we'll be providing a platform for some of the best producers on the gay scene to swing the bricks in their handbags."
