| BOSCALAND
History
Originally
started in 1992 by the legendary DJ HMS and Jon The Dentist
as the UKs only gabba label at that time, it has matured
into a broader hard techno style over the years as Jon took
over running the label on his own.
As
the BPMs went down, the quality went up and Boscaland
soon became a credible outlet for other techno artists such
as DAVE The Drummer and The Liberator DJs. Collaborations
such as Thera (Dave The Drummer & Chris Liberator) and
The Weathermen (Julian Liberator and DAVE The Drummer) have
graced the label and produced some of their best stuff whilst
continuing the Boscaland sound.
With
well over 40 releases under its belt, Boscaland
took another step in its evolution with a darker sound
creeping in and an image change to mirror the mood.
Jon
himself enjoyed the ability to be able to experiment with
his once favourite label under the pseudonyms of Kyoto, Silo
and the excellent electro and breakbeat influenced Underground
Cyber Movement. He even found time to do further collaborations
himself, as well as producing music for his other labels Bosca
Beats and Phoenix Uprising.
Early
1999 and Jon decided it was time to call it a day. He
wanted to put all his efforts into his commercial Phoenix
Uprising label and put Boscaland to its final resting place
Boscaland
is still a nice place to live just dont try leaving
